Highway to Hell
So, I was talking to a friend the other day and asked them to think about what makes them truly happy. I should really learn to heed my own advice. After my friend signed off, I found myself pondering the same question. What makes me happy? Money, sex, fame, cars, boats. None of this brings me true happiness. If you would have asked me when I was 18-23, I would have said “yes, please, all of it and more”. I have come to realize that possessions mean very little to me. Only times, by that I mean good times. I think back to my most precious memories and they were hanging out with my friends. I truly enjoy just talking to them and discussing the latest George Lucas bile induced crap fest to grace the theatres. I ponder this a bit longer only to come to my next notion. Its not that I like just to hang around them at a bar or club, but, rather that I like to joke around. Talk and laugh till the wee hours of the morning. My friend Mike is very good friend. He makes me laugh and we seem to disagree on many subjects, but, somehow we stand each other over the weekends. I have had the most fun in my life just hanging out with him.
Anyway, I guess that’s just it. Time can be precious, perhaps one of the most precious things of all. It’s up to us to make it precious, but, only if you experience and remember those moments. Only then do they become precious, worth more than all the gold and silver in the world. In closing, if you are reading this, then please take just a moment to remember your best friend or funniest memory, or think about that person who could always make you laugh. For a smile is contagious and laughter is infectious, if you’re lucky, then you will be sickest person in the world. LOL. Have fun!
